Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

Astoria is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Astoria follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We came all the way from Germany, and Bakers Cafe LIC completely exceeded our expectations! Without a doubt, this is the best halal breakfast spot we have visited in New York. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. The sandwiches were incredible, the coffee was perfect, and you can truly taste the quality of the ingredients. What made our experience even more special was the amazing staff. Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and genuinely friendly. They made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. If you’re looking for an authentic and delicious halal breakfast in NYC, this place is a must-visit. We will definitely come back on our next trip to New York and will be recommending Bakers Cafe LIC to all our friends and family back in Germany. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! 🇩🇪❤️🗽

Smoked salmon, lox, salmon… basically everything salmon here is SOOOO good 🤤 The bagel + cream cheese combo: Elite. No notes. Also tried the strawberry rose matcha and wow… unexpectedly amazing. Didn’t think I’d love it this much but here we are. Service is super warm and friendly, the guy at the counter is super nice and easy to chat with, makes the whole vibe even better. If it’s your first time in New York, this is honestly a great place to start. And if you’re a New Yorker who somehow hasn’t been here yet… go try it.

Awesome little spot, would highly recommend. Literally tasted like it was home cooking. The everything bagel with lox was great, but the chicken with rice and beans was my favorite. Chicken was fall off the bone tender and melted in my mouth, with a kick of flavor from house-made salsa verde and some heat for good measure. I was also surprised that such a small place had amazing coffee as well. I only wish I had a bigger appetite that day so I could have had the ruben sandwich! Looking forward to coming again. Yaseen is an amazing owner!

A corner gem in LIC. Don’t mistake this for just another corner café. The menu offerings and actual food is diverse and delicious. I ordered the fish (flounder) platter with rice & beans, salad, and avocado. I couldn’t believe the generous portion that arrived at the table for the price I paid. My son ordered chicken tacos and we shared an order of shrimp tempura. The latter is uniquely drizzled with sauces you don’t normally find on tempura but surprisingly goes nicely with it! While I was eating, numerous regulars poured in and the owner and staff knew all of them. People coming thru the door welcomed by a warm greeting - hard to find these days. There are also fresh pastries and desserts. I ordered an ube latte and large chocolate chip cookie. When I asked the owner where they bought the cookies from, he replied, “oh, we bake them here (what?!). Nice. Check them out!

Place has really good breakfast/brunch. Prices are affordable, and you get a lot of food for what you pay for. Service is nice and place is clean. Would definitely go back when in the area. Their tiramisu latte was also really good, its a new items on their menu. Plus everything is halal.
